Historically, behavioral health information has been excluded from community Health Information Exchanges. It has even stricter confidentiality needs than a traditional healthcare professional does, especially surrounding substance abuse. MyHealthStory has allowed behavioral health centers and their patients to securely and privately share and receive information with community providers since July 2011. MyHealthStory does this by satisfying behavioral health’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Code of Federal Regulations Title 42 (CFR 42) concerns and needs.
